A useful first note is specific and ordinary. If you are building a company, tell us what it does, how you came to the problem, what has been built, and why capital may be relevant now. If you represent a fund, describe the profile you have been unable to source and what your prior search has produced. If you work within a regional institution, tell us what you see and what kind of relationship would be useful.
